Your study contributions support the University of Witten/Herdecke. Together, all students contribute a significant portion of the university’s annual budget, making a major contribution to the success of our university. The amount of the contributions is agreed upon jointly by the university and the StudierendenGesellschaft and is generally adjusted each winter semester. Regardless of the chosen payment option, all students pay the same amount on average — because the immediate payment amount is calculated based on the average expected repayment of our deferred-payment students.

Below you will find the contributions for all degree programs for enrollment from the Winter Semester 2025/2026 (these also apply to the Summer Semester 2026).

For enrollment from the Winter Semester 2026/2027, the following contributions apply in accordance with the contribution regulations of the University of Witten/Herdecke (these also apply to the Summer Semester 2027):

1 All information provided without guarantee — see liability disclaimers
2 The repayment period is the number of repayment years contractually agreed upon. A calendar year counts as a repayment year if the contract holder is not exempt from repayment.
3 Contractually agreed percentage of the relevant income (relevant income, see FAQ)
4 Internal students are those master’s students who previously completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of Witten/Herdecke. All other students are considered external.

A sample contract (using the medicine degree program as an example) can also be downloaded here — this is the contract concluded between the student and the StudierendenGesellschaft when opting for deferred payment or partial deferred payment.

The contribution regulations of UW/H officially set out the contributions for the individual degree programs. You can view and download the current contribution regulations here.
